Sarah Liptrot has been creating art since she can remember, her first commissions were in stone when she was in her teens.
Later on in her twenties, she lived for ten years in Barcelona where she created painted backdrops and collapsible sculpture for festivals and event hire. She established 'The Telepathy Experience' which put on festivals and events where she created rooms of spatial illusions and performed sets as a DJ along with other guest DJs and VJs.
After travelling and working for some years in Africa, the Middle East, Scandinavia and Asia, she returned to London, first studying at the Portland Quarry Trust and then the Slade Art School before undertaking Undergraduate and Postgraduate Diplomas at the City & Guilds of London Art School from 2007. She graduated after 4 years with two Distinctions and several awards.
Some sponsors include The Honourable Knights of the Round Table, The Chelsea Arts Trust, The David Ballardie Memorial Travel Award, and The Carpenters' Company.
Sarah taught woodcarving alongside her mentor, the sculptor Dick Onians, at Missenden Abbey, sculpture at the Art Academy in London, and woodcarving at Richmond Adult Education College. She has also travelled and taught art around Colombia, South America - including the Amazon.
Sarah has worked with sculptors Geoffrey Preston, Alex Jones, and Laureano Gisca in Madrid, as well as architectural carver Charles Oldham.
Many of the public and private commissions Sarah has completed are showcased in this website.
